Day MACER – This is a committee from BrCCC bylaws, required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (Day Contract) – 3 representatives of management and 3 members of the MCCC unit “shall discuss matters of mutual concerns to the employee and the employer.”

Bylaws & Rules Committee – This is a standing committee from BrCCC bylaws. At least 3 members to receive proposed amendments to the bylaws for review and recommendations to the chapter and Executive Committee. Term of office is 1 year beginning September 30.

Distance Education Committee – This is a committee from BrCCC bylaws, required by the Distance Education Agreement – 3 representatives of management and 3 members of the MCCC Units (Day and DCE) “shall meet as necessary to discuss in advance distance education initiatives/opportunities offered by the College and shall serve as a vehicle to share information about campus distance education opportunities, system-wide distance education initiatives, and to provide the MCCC with an opportunity for effective input into those local opportunities and initiatives, including the process for selection of unit members for training opportunities.” Term of office is 2 years beginning September 30.

Health & Safety Committee – This is a standing committee from BrCCC bylaws. At least 3 members to investigate (through document review and/or visual inspections) concerns brought by union members and advocate and other duties on behalf of the chapter for improved health and safety conditions. Term of office is 2 years beginning September 30.

Nominations & Election Committee – This is a standing committee from BrCCC bylaws. At least 3 members to provide eual access to nomination procedures for all members and to assur each candidate for office equal treatment in the election process. Term of office is 1 year beginning September 30.

Adjunct/DCE Team – We are especially looking for each campus to be represented on this team! A team to work with Paulette Howarth as DCE At-Large to BrCCC Executive Committee and Catherine Adamowicz as Adjunct Rep for MCCC Adjunct Committee to make sure adjunct concerns are represented locally and at the state level.

Grievance Team – A team to share the workload of grievances for Day and DCE — working with members to file grievances when needed, helping to represent and support members at hearings and mediations, communicating with the chapter regarding grievances. (Training will be provided.)

Membership Team – We are especially looking for each campus to be represented on this team! This is a team to share the workload of the Membership Chair. Responsible for the recruitment of new members, hosting special events for the purpose of meeting and greeting prospective union members, marketing the benefits of union membership, etc., as well as reaching out to existing members, hosting events for members, raising awareness of the value of membership for retaining members.

Strategic Action Team – A team to share the workload of BrCCC’s representative to the MCCC Strategic Action Committee. This could include attending statewide meetings, planning events and actions regarding legislation that furthers the educational agenda.

Watchdog Team – This is a new ad-hoc committee for local action. Examines new job postings for shifting unit responsibilities from the unit into non-unit positions. In general, stays apprised of proposed and implemented changes and their contractual impacts.
