MCCC Board of Director Job Description per MCCC Policies
Constitutional Mandates for the Board of Directors
- Assist with the development and implementation of the Delegate Assembly agenda by doing the following:
- Recommend policies or changes in policy to the Delegate Assembly
- Promulgate policies, procedures, rules to further the interests of the Council
- Convene special meetings of the Delegate Assembly
- Recommend, through the Treasurer (until 2022), and post-2022 through the executive director, an annual budget and membership dues to the Delegate Assembly for its approval
- Establish a method by which services provided to the Council by organizations with which the Council is affiliated can be monitored and evaluated impartially and objectively. The results of all evaluations will be reported to the Delegate Assembly by the evaluators.
- Assist with the development and management of MCCC Committees by doing the following:
- Acting upon recommendations of the President for the appointment of conveners and other members to standing committees
- Appoint such ad hoc committees as it may deem necessary
- Receiving and acting upon reports and recommendations from committees
- Assist with MCCC administration by doing the following:
- Employ staff for the efficient management of the MCCC and adopt personnel policies for this staff
- Adopt procedures and policies for the conduct of MCCC business
- Appoint the Secretary and Treasurer (until 2022) of the Council when a vacancy exists in either office until such time as the next regularly scheduled election

Chapter Representation
Individual chapter directors shall:
- Attend Board meetings and, where absence is unavoidable, provide advance notice to the chaptertell President (the chapter president will tell the statewide president and name an alternate).
- Notify Chapter membership of Board activities, and where feasible, solicit member input prior to Board action
- Where feasible regularly attend chapter meetings inclusive of Executive, MACER, and membership meetings
- Maintain close communications with the Chapter President

MCCC Representation
- Attend MCCC Delegate Assembly
- Participate in the annual MCCC Fall Conference
- Communicate MCCC positions/concerns to local College administration in conjunction with chapter leadership, the Massachusetts Legislature, and any other institution as deemed appropriate by the MCCC
- Assist the Chapter in compliance with MCCC mandates (i.e. submission of annual Financial and Incorporation Reports)

Director Chapter Responsibilities
At the chapter level, the Director is the liaison from the MCCC BOD to the Chapter Executive Committee and general membership. The Director should be prepared to report at meetings what is happening at the statewide level, as well as keep the MCCC leadership apprised of what is of concern at the chapter level.
