  1. President Mike Geary: plans for next meeting
    1. Next meeting will be devoted solely to a discussion about work to rule
  2. Lisa Coole Chair of Day bargaining team: new temporary agreement
    1. In place for 21 months
    2. Summary document will be signed off on later today
      1. Will soon be available on MCCC website
  3. Language changes
    1. Modalities and meanings
      1. Consistent meaning with management
    2. Grievance process made more accessible
    3. Faculty work load
      1. No hard/physical copies of syllabus needed
      2. Changes in number/days of office hours—faculty has more say in when and modality
      3. Department chairs or coordinators
      4. To receive at least one course release regardless of title
      5. Reduced course size for critical thinking courses
      6. Faculty evaluations
        1. New tool and software: online for all courses
    4. Benefit changes
      1. Unit members may use all accrued sick leave to take care of family members
      2. Juneteeth is now a paid holiday
      3. Equity for professional staff on sabbaticals
        1. Must use ratio between faculty and prof staff to determine
        2. Not the job of professional staff to figure out how their jobs will be done while they are away
        3. Incorporate in to agreement language of Paid Family Medical Leave
        4. Prof staff can use vacation in fractions
    5. Financial changes
      1. Salary increase for FT unit members
        1. 5% increase for year one (on base pay)
      2. Year 2 also 2% retroactive (on base pay)
        1. Post tenue evals
      3. 2 intervals for everyone (2.5%)
      4. Retroactive to first pay period of July 2022
          1. Longevity increases/cumulative
          2. New intervals added
            1. 15 years retroactive to 7/1/22
            2. 20 years retroactive to same
    6. 25 years retro to 1/1/23
    7. 30 years retro to 6/30/23
    8. Equity for professional staff
      1. same as faculty
    9. Three new intervals a bottom of grids (highest value)
      1. Lowest grids removed
      2. Keep people from leaving
    10. Department chair and coordinators
    11. Hourly rate $50 instead of $40 for work done outside of academic year
    12. Covid bonus
      1. Employed during the first pay period of July 2021 and remains in employment
        1. One time bonus
          1. 5% of base salary or $1000 whichever is more
    13. Interim salary adjustment
      1. Members can ask HR to adjust their salaries when someone is hired gets a higher rate of pay; salaries equalized
    14. PT faculty and prof staff
      1. 5% retroactive to July 2021
      2. July 1, 2022 there will be a four-step grid based on seniority
    15. Added up increases – maybe up to 12% based on years of service and post tenure evaluation

 

Plan to finishing up paperwork today; printer tomorrow; mail to day union members for voting; ballots early next week; paperwork will be up on MCCC site
