104 Attendees

  1. Reminders
    1. Telework and blackout dates
      1. Two interpretations of MOA
        1. College: allows for blackout dates
        2. Union: yes, language says no blackouts
    2. Not enough grievances filed to push back in the past
      1. Fear of retaliations
    3. Attorney advises no ULP—language too vague
    4. Send concerns to supervisors
    5. DCE courses; college only needs to follow seniority for first round only; may not always get same courses from one semester to the next or in the same modality
    6. We only have 30 day only for grievances
      1. Any issues let grievance team know ASAP
      2. Workload calculations should be given at end of add/drop
    7. Only one grievance going to arbitration: Distance Ed and payment for developing different modalities
    8. Evaluations
      1. All are done online; no more paper packets
      2. Faculty can set the window of opportunity for evaluations
      3. First or second offering of courses are not evaluated
      4. Contract does not specify that no evals occur during finals week
  2. Presidents Report (Mike)
    1. Need clear “asks” to end WTR
    2. Agreed upon:
      1. Contract ratified
      2. List of interim positions and what the plan is for filling them
        1. Need to be strategic about which positions need to be filled before end to WTR
    3. For motions:
      1. Positions that need to be filled:
        1. Director of advising (director and assistant director vacant)
        2. BSSE Dean
        3. Director of LLC
        4. Director of Distance Learning (CITE)
      2. Motion on the floor: The BrCCC requests that the college commit in writing to posting the Director of Advising position and establish a reasonable timeframe in which said posting will be made.
        1. Seconded: yes
        2. Discussion
          1. May need reasonable timeframe?
          2. End of AY? End of calendar year? In consultation with union?
          3. Motion to extend discussion
            1. Seconded
          4. Discussion:
            1. Should we ask for a list of all positions and a plan for filling them?
            2. Is college keeping these positions open to save money?
            3. Are there any positions that will not be filled?
            4. Should identify positions that are most significant?
            5. July 1st end of budget?
          5. Friendly amendment to motion: The BRCCC requests that the college commit in writing to posting all open positions, their current posting/search status and the projected timeframes for said posting/searches – specifically, positions that need to be filled:
            1. Director of advising (director and assistant director vacant)
            2. BSSE Dean
            3. Director of LLC
            4. Director of Online Learning (CITE)

            2. No: 12%
            3. Abstain: 8%
        3. The BrCCC requests that the college schedule focus groups for areas that identify as having especially low morale and feel disrespected or unheard by administration.
        4. Transparency about reorg
        5. Progress in hiring library professional staff (member positions)
        6. Suzanne Buglione be terminated from college or new search
